No. But you're mad if you don't get yourself tested afterwards. 

You should also take some time and think if it's really worth it to you. If you get herpes or any other viral STD you will have it for life and will need meds to control it. 

The worst I've gotten myself is chlamydia and a yeast infection.

Suppression treatment is fine. But he tells me it's not only about outbreaks in some sort of schedule. So many things affect the outbreaks. Such as a glass of wine, certain food, lack of sleep... many things. 

Medical treatment is fine,  but some people - my friend told me - suffer more than others.

Vaginal F2M transmission rates of HIV are minuscule, you are more likely to get killed in traffic on the way to the girl. Herpes might be a concern, but if that doesn't worry you, and you are not planning on bareback anal, you should be fine.

Self-disciipline is a good thing. I always practise it meticulously. Never ever sex without, except for those occasions when it just happens.
