Here she is with Antonio Banderas from pussy in boots.

I saw that she also sang with Andrea Bocelli, the name of the song is “Vivo por Ella”.

And…another video with Sting and the algerian singer Cheb Mami…The song is great, and the lyrics say beautiful things, like for example…

“I dream of love as time runs through my hand..” <3

Me and Needy have an agreement that when he posts a video of his goddess, I have to post one of mine too.

I don't really have any 'Godess'.
But as I've mentionet earlier, I do like Norwegian 'Girl in Red'.
She is atractive and very sympathetic to me.
And she has written several very straightforward songs about her emotional problems.
This song gives a description which is very close to what I myself experienced at that age ...
A sad song, along the line of Moby and Radiohead
But don't worry - I have some more cheerful songs I play later ...

Nice lyrics in the desert rose song. The first time I heard Vivo Por Ella with Karol I compared it directly to the old version with Marta Sanchez. Each bird sing with their own beak and Karol’s beak is perfect for her songs. But I think she would have complemented Bocelli better with something a bit more like the awesome ”Perfect” Bocelli/Sheeran duet. Instead of Vivo Por Ella where Marta Sanchez almost went head-to-head with Bocelli. But I liked it better when I listened to it again.

I think Thalia has a lot of great energy, she was one of the early inspirations of Karol:

I understand what you mean, I hadn't seen and I don't know Marta Sánchez but then I just watched the video and it's really like you said...that's why it's good to choose the ideal song and singer for each duet, even to avoid unnecessary comparisons.
Bocelli sang this same song with others but from what I can see, the duet with Marta was a better match, I would say they are in their own style, but on the same level.

I’m on an Annie Lennox kick at the moment — I’d heard this one before, but I didn’t realize it was her.

Love this one :)

And yes there is five of her!

I posted songs of Hatun Killa earlier, which I thought were interesting, but it turns out they are all covers of Yma Sumac from Peru, who apparently was big in the 50s. It must have sounded unusual to hear her after the war, Speaking of singing with your own beak, Yma Sumac almost sounded like a human synthesizer.

I also discovered something I didn't know..:) I like Prince, singing, playing various instruments and dancing...and I was looking for something of his and I thought Sinéad O’Connor  had written "Nothing compares to you", but it wasn't her, it was Prince..:)<3

I did not use to know it was a Prince song either, I think of it as Sinead. I recently read that it was Prince but did not hear it until you posted it now. A case of the cover being better than the original?

I love Purple Rain. I once danced and tonguekissed with a girl to it. Pretty blond girl. No money, just the two of us and lots of hormones. But it was not in 85 when it came out. I think this cover is interesting, though the original is better. She is really good if it is just some sort of talent show. There must be a lot of great Chinese (and Thai) music that we do not know about.

After my late discovery:lol: I read that the song was not a success with Prince and his band at the time, however the same song with Sinéad reached the top of the charts in several countries. I think it's a combination of things - while she gives off a more melancholic image, her sweet face singing, the lyrics, melody, everything suited her better, while Prince, even with all his talent, was more eccentric, and therefore it was more likely that she would be more popular.

And then…a beautiful and emotional song “Strange Fruit”. Read the true story about the song. The cover was made famous by Billie Holiday, and here performed by Annie Lennox

And my favorite version, I'm in love with this interpretation…<3

Phew, what a rough song you got there. I find it hard to listen to because of the lyrics, I react to it. I cannot listen to that much, I get angry.

I think Sinead also came of as sincere. She was always wearing her soul on the outside. She looked vulnerable but at the same time she had a lot of pent up fury, sadness and desire. I thought she was hot, she was passionate and ferocious. It is all over her songs but I think it is the most clear in Troy. The song needs whatever she had inside her to work. And it is another song one cannot sing without being compared to the original.

Yes, I agree, it's more about knowing the story behind the song than listening to it, although I admit that I've seen Billie Holiday's version over and over again…:) and still do because I love the truth in her interpretation…:)

I liked this song by Sinéad, “Troy”, I didn’t know it, she is really intense and reminds me a little of Björk…

Something beautiful and sex to dance to…

Saftsuseme kedelig musiksmag i denne tråd.

I really like that song @Rafaela. I do not know how I missed that Michael Jackson song. Seems like it would be fun to dance to.

Meget ensformigt.

Capoeira emerged in Brazil during the slavery period, when enslaved africans created the practice as a form of defense and resistance, which they used to defend themselves from the “captains of the forest”, responsible for capturing fugitives.

To disguise the practice as a fight, capoeiristas used music and dance, creating a “game” that seemed like a “joking”, but which hid combat movements.

Capoeira is an afro-brazilian cultural expression and sport, which mixes martial art, dance and music.

A video with examples of how capoeira and martial arts mix…

And here's a cute little one learning the art…:)<3

Nå men de må høre under 70'er pop så.

En sød GP introducerede mig til den her, som vi siden har skrålet med på

Pissefedt nummer!

Den er fra albummet "Even in the Quietest Moments".

The lyrics encourage you to 'give a little bit of yourself' – to be generous in vulnerable relationships.

I'll give a little bit of my love to you...
